It got horribly mixed reviews, but after viewing the Twilight movie this evening I'd say it is one of the best book to movie adaptations I've seen. I loooved it, and I generally hate movie adaptations for changing essential points or cutting things out. I want to go see it again right now.
It was so much fun seeing a book, which really felt like a private world that nobody else knew of (even though, obviously it's a best seller), come to life. The teen girls in the audience, which was almost entirely full of ladies, all screamed the first time Edward came on screen. It was hilarious.
I'd say, definitely don't watch the movie without reading the book first. The characters are much more dear after reading. But the book is excellent and the movie definitely gets the world spot on.
